LINQER80 supporting 25-qubit processors with low signal crosstalk

We are very excited to showcase the latest work by our technical cofounders Dr. Sandoko Kosen, Dr. Robert Rehammar, and Dr. Giovanna Tandredi, as well as the Quantum Technology groups at Chalmers University of Technology and VTT, published in PRX Quantum with a synopsis by the APS Physics Magazine.

They show that a well-packaged and well-designed quantum processor architecture can lead to not only very low signal crosstalk, but early indications of favorable scaling behavior. Quoting the lead author and our co-founder, Dr. Sandoko Kosen:

“This work would not have been possible without the clean microwave hygiene environment enabled by this first-generation prototype of LINQER80. It is a relatively complex engineering work, and this high-density packaging is a culmination of our years of experience and knowledge in building high-performance devices. I’m genuinely proud to have been part of the founding team to develop this, and to see that next-generation LINQER with varying sizes are being used in companies and research groups across the world.”

Quoting Dr Giovanna Tancredi (our co-founder and the senior researcher leading the quantum computer effort at Chalmers):

“Even with the first Linqer prototype, we demonstrated that low crosstalk can be achieved if one designs the QPU and its microwave packaging well. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the next-generation LINQER technology making its way into the hands of researchers and companies worldwide.”

Quoting Dr Robert Rehammar (our co-founder and CTO, the development lead of this packaging solution):

“Already at the prototyping stage, the Linqer QPU packaging solution shows this impressive performance and Scalinq has made several significant improvements since the version used in this research. We are happy to work with Chalmers on this important part of making quantum computing a reality.”

The Scalinq team congratulates our co-founders for this impressive result. If you want to get hold of one of these LINQER packages or other high-quality microwave components, check out our product page or contact us at sales@scalinq.com !
